Time To Think About The New
We have seen the Holiday Season come and go, really fast! Now is the time to think about the new path, new schedule, new education, new beginnings, new business.
While, I was looking at my schedule for the day, checking membership status for new customers, looking at the invoice totals, and tallying the accounts receivables, it dawned on me – today is a Holiday! Kids do not have school today, wife is coming home from a girls weekend, why am I working. I should be spending as much time with them that I can. There should be laughter, games, quality family time being spent enjoying each others company. I like to call it – kicking the tires and lighting the fires, or better terms, Family Huddle!
Instead, I find myself looking for and coming up with ways to attract new business, new referral relationships, new marketing advertisements, new backlinks, new ways for SEO (search engine optimization), and new ways to become a magnet for new customers. Rather, what I should be doing is discovering that it is time to think about the new things where I can dive deep into my family.
Read an article about 23 executives in big business and how they get up early to get ahead of everyone else. Then found myself asking, what kind of relationship do they have with their kids. Working from 4:30am till 7:00pm everyday, including weekends does great for business, but what effect does that have on your family life? What about vacations you say? Well, we all that old attempt at spending time together, scheduled events, every moment planned, no rest for anyone. The need for a vacation from your vacation stares at you upon your return! In the end, not good for anyone.
So, I tell you this, with the beginning of the new year, it is time to think about the new relationship possibilities you can have with your family.

I hear you. I am at the office right now typing this and wondering why I am here today. Just does not feel like a holiday. Thats it, I am leaving, seriously… thanks for the inspiration.
all work and no play, just does not cut it anymore. Especially when you have multiple children that want to spend time with you…really during the normal work week, do we ever spend that much time with them…they see their teachers more than their own parents!
Good for you Dean, have as much fun as you can, life is too short for all that other stuff outside of your family!
